Inspired by Fear
Darkness fills the wood. I ran through them without regard for my own safety. I ran for my life.
The plague had come to my village weeks before. Then they came, evil men in white suits. They said they could help, they claimed to be able to cure us. We trusted them. The plague just got worse. More people died.
The men in white suits didn’t die though. They were fine, always fine.
Still they claimed to want to help, to be trying to save us, but we kept dieing. Our dead filled the town. Still they men lived. We questioned them, we wanted them to leave but they refused, they said it was for our own good. Still we died. Still they lived. They forced us into our homes and wouldn’t let us out. They said it was for our good.
Still we died. Still they lived. They stabbed us with needles. Everyone had the plague but not the men.
I run for my life the men chase me. Strange monsters fly through the sky, carrying the men, all in white suits. I run. For days I’ve ran. For days. I've hid. Now the men are right behind me. I hear their dogs. I hear their monsters.
I see strange buildings. Buildings that reach into the sky. I see hard ground, black and hot. Still I run towards these strange buildings. I see people, they wear strange clothes. Not the white suits but bright colored clothing. I see their faces, hear them talking. They haven’t seen me yet. On I run. They will help me against the men in white suits.
I run into one of them, begging for help but she just screams and pulls away in fear. Now she run. The men in white suits come out of the woods, yelling, screaming. I run. Into a maelstrom of monsters and buildings, all holding people. I run into many people but everyone that sees me screams in fear. Most run at my sight. The legions on my body start to burst. Blood pours from my wounds. The men in white suits still chase me. I stagger, my strength fails. I fall. The men in suits place a plastic sheet over me. I hear yelling.
I die.
