The Archer
The Archer is singularly suited to attack enemy units at range. Archers can setup behind soldiers or terrain that will keep them out of harms way and do significant damage to enemy units. Archers will rarely get a kill on the first hit but can greatly soften a up a unit before they can engage with your melee units. Well positioned Archers will give you a huge edge over the enemy.
With Stand and Fire, Archers are able to put a lot of attacks down range but their movement is reduced to one. This is a great way to bring down unarmored enemy units. Archers also have the Piercing Shot ability. With this ability active the Archers can be very effective against heavily armored units but they do have to concentrate to get the best shot off which reduces the Archers speed. |
The Assassin
The Assassin is capable of killing any unit with a single blow if given time to charge up its stats. Assassin's need to hang back away from battle to build up their stats so they can move in to battle and make a one hit kill then retreat back before the enemy can respond. The Assassin has both low armor and low health and so needs to be protected but when used carefully is incredibly deadly.
To handle heavily armored units the Assassin can use Penetrating Focus. After a few turns the assassin can completely ignore the targets armor. Critical Focus provides bonus damage to take out softer targets. Velocity Focus allows the Assassin to increase its movement, letting the Assassin safely go deep behind enemy lines and get out safely again. |
The Knight
The Knight is a powerful unit that can survive a great deal of punishment while dealing powerful attacks to the enemy. The Knight is a front line unit that can turn the tide of battle. The Knight can also hold the line with a wall of Soldiers if there is a gap that needs to be filled.
The Knight gains attack charges each time it attacks an enemy. The Knight can use the attack charges on the deadly Power Attack. The Power Attack gets increasingly more powerful with each Attack Charge. In a long combat the Power Attack can frequently be the deciding blow. The Knight can also use the attack charges to use the Bash ability. Bash knocks an enemy unit back and eliminates any passive bonuses that it has, such as a Soldier's armor bonus. The Knightly Resolve ability allows the Knight to heal when the Knight isn't attacking making it an effect tank if you just need to hold the line. |
The Soldier
The Soldier is a defensive unit that is designed to form a wall to prevent the unarmored units from taking the brunt of the enemy's attack. While the Soldier does have a relatively weak attack it is fairly fast allowing the Soldier to attack frequently and to get into position.
The Soldier's Shield Wall ability allows the Soldier to increase its armor when the Soldier is not attacking. When activated Shield Wall reduces the Soldier's movement to one so the Shield Wall is only useful when defending a static position. However, the Soldier's armor increases every turn. After a few turns with Shield Wall activated the Soldier becomes incredibly difficult to damage much less kill |
The Warrior
The Warrior is an offensive unit that is very fast when outside of combat allowing the Warrior to get into battle very quickly and to strike exposed enemy units. The Warrior is also a great flanking unit with its high speed outside of combat the Warrior can get around the battle field to be were ever they are needed.
The Warrior's Aggressive Nature gives a large speed boost when ever the Warrior does not attack. When getting a unit into position quickly is important the Warrior is the unit that can get there in time. With the Warriors high damage they are able take out many units alone when they get the first attack in. |
These are only five of the units that will be found in Lothar's War. Keep checking back to find out about all of the units that you will use to fight Lothar's War!
